Sunday Services

Why Not Join Us This Sunday

Our church community is growing, developing and welcomes people of all ages and all backgrounds. Our Sunday Services cater for both traditional and contemporary tastes in worship.

Each Sunday there are four Services at St John’s and we would love to see you at one of them!

Holy Communion

This service takes place in the Parish Church. It is a quiet and more contemplative said service of Holy Communion 1 from the Church of Ireland’s Book of Common Prayer.

Morning Worship

This is a contemporary service that meets in the Parish Centre located on Main Street Moira. Our praise is led by a worship group and in addition to the main sermon every week we have a children’s talk before the children and young people go to Sunday School.

We have a junior Sunday School for children in nursery to P7 and a senior Sunday School for young people in year 8-10. We also have a discipleship class for those who have been recently confirmed. We have a crèche for wee ones too. Every fourth Sunday of the month we celebrate Holy Communion together. After this service there is an opportunity to receive prayer and the chance to catch up or meet new people over a cuppa!

Morning Prayer

This is a traditional service of Morning Prayer 1 from the Church of Ireland Book of Common Prayer. Our praise is led by an organist and our Parish choir. Every first Sunday of the month we celebrate Holy Communion together.

Evening Prayer

This is a traditional service of Evening Prayer 1 from the Church of Ireland Book of Common Prayer. Our praise is led by an organist and our Parish choir.
